Chocolate Sauce

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 9 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • ¼ cup water
  • ½ cup light corn syrup
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla


Boil first 4 ingredients to firm ball stage (244°-248°

 on candy thermometer).  Remove from heat.  Add

 the evaporated milk and vanilla.  Stir well.  Pour in

 a jar and cool.  The mixture will seem runny at first but

 will thicken as it cools.
